Understanding Your Bill

Understanding Your Bill

The district bills residential customers bi-monthly. The top right of your bill has your account #, location #, total amount due, and the due date. Underneath the due date shows what the total due will be if paid after the 5 day grace period.

The middle of the bill has the water charge, sewer charge, and service fee. The water charge is billed per 1,000 gallons with three tiers. Tier 1 is 0-16,000 gallons, tier 2 is 17,000-50,000 gallons, and tier 3 is 51,000+ gallons. The sewer charge is based off of your winter water usage from the previous year. The service fee covers the District’s yearly fixed operations and expenses. We are a non-profit utility and do not claim mill levies that would be collected with your property taxes.

You will also find information showing the billing dates, gallons used, average daily usage (total gallons used divided by total days in the billing period) and usage same time last year. If you have signed up for automatic payments you will see half way down in large red lettering, automatic credit card payment or bank draft do not pay.

If you see Potential Leak in red letters, that is alerting you to a continuous flow of water over a 24 hour period at some point during your billing cycle.
