Sam Ainsworth
Address: 13362 W. Jewell Dr.

Age:
68

Relavent Experience:
I have been in private business for over 50 years, more than 25 of those years as the owner of a medium sized heating and air conditioning company in Greeley, Colorado. I have a working knowledge of pipelines, storage and treatment facilities and distribution networks.

I have lived in Colorado for over 30 years as a homeowner with a greater than average interest in the unique water situation here. I am interested in it’s history, ownership, supply, delivery, use, recovery and the competition these create.

I have served on the Weld County Building Trades Appeals Board, The City of Greeley Mechanical Advisory Board (chairman for 8 years) and the City of Greeley Building Trades Advisory Board.

I was a member of the Rocky Mountain Gas Association in the ‘80’s and served several terms as president of the Northern Division.  I have also served on other boards and committees dealing with people, organizations, planning, construction and maintaining large capital projects. As a businessman, I can empathize with the consumption and supply aspects of the GMW&SD.

Profession:
I am semi-retired from a heating and air conditioning company, which my wife and I sold in 2007 in order to move closer to family.

Education:
I am a graduate of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

Why I Am Running?:
I do not believe that a person should live in a community and not be a contributor to the community. I believe that I have something to offer to the community and the GMW&SD because of the following:

1)  My years of experience in the business community.
2)  My years of experience in a closely related field.
3)  My desire to serve in our community.
4)  My desire to learn more about the water and sewer business from the supply side and it’s effect on our community.
