RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:  I am a licensed Professional Engineer with 20 years experience in civil engineering and water resources.  I am an owner of Leonard Rice Engineers, a 40-person consulting engineering firm that specializes in water rights, water planning, and water-related facility design.  I offer a strong understanding of the infrastructure and maintenance issues facing the District, as well as experience in running a business. I have lived and paid water bills in the District for 17 years.

WHY I AM RUNNING FOR THE BOARD:  I originally ran for the board in May 2006 because I believed that the District would benefit from my relevant experience in civil design, water resources, and business. Although I was not elected at that time, in December 2007 the existing board went through an interview process and appointed me to fill a board vacancy. I have been an active participant in board meetings since that time, and am now even more convinced that my experience and participation is important to the District and, therefore, to the community.
