For 2010, the first tier (0-22,000 gallons) will remain the
same as 2009 at ($3.42 per 1,000
gallons). For Tier 2 (23,000-60,000
gallons) the rate has been set at ($3.96 per 1,000 gallons). The third
tier (61,000+) is ($4.54 per 1,000 gallons). Please see
the District's
Winter 2010 newsletter
for further information.
The 2008
charge of $2.00 per 1,000 gallons rate as determined by water purchased
during the non-irrigation months of the previous year has been increased for
2009 to $2.75 per 1,000 gallons. This
rate will remain the same for 2010.
The 2008 Operations Fee (formerly service charge) of $17.00
per billing cycle ($8.50
per month) for residential customers was increased to ($10.00 per month) or $20.00
per billing cycle
in 2009. The Operations Fee for 2010 will remain at this same rate.
This is assessed to cover overhead expenses such as insurance, power for pump
stations, telephone, water main breaks, hydrant maintenance, sewer line repair,
miscellaneous tools, equipment for the field maintenance personnel, office
supplies, and postage. This rate was increased in 2007 to offset the
rising energy costs that have been experienced over the last few years.
That was the first service fee increase since 2001.
